I aimed for 30 hours of riding during my trip here (that would be 5 pounds in two weeks at 6 hours per pound), and after taking 4 of 8 days off, I thought that wasn't realistic. But after yesterday I'm at 18.5 hours, even after two short days (1 hour and 2 hours). Now I'm wondering if I can add 15-20 or more hours before Tuesday night.

My legs feel pretty good, like this morning they're slightly sore but nothing debilitating.

On Palomar my base work was apparent since last time I hit it I was weaving in a 39x25, barely able to stay upright. This time I was slowly and methodically grinding the 39x23, mainly in a straight line. Huge difference.

My goal today is to do an easier but somewhat long ride. I'll see how it goes. Another Palomar attempt probably on Monday or Tuesday, with an equally long ride the day I don't go for Palomar.

If I don't get sick.Akihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00430651087205849350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36139180.post-17473977370193423912008-02-07T13:15:00.000-05:002008-02-07T13:15:00.000-05:00I've been enjoying your Cali trip vicariously. Can't believe you'd even attempt that climb so early - but you're sure in a good place, physically as well as geographically (you must be feeling MUCH better!). Keep the travelogues comin'!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
